Effects and Adaptation

Effects and adaptation of biological processes and ecosystems to climate change

Effects and adaptation of terrestrial ecosystems to climate change and changes in growth conditions. Systems biological science approach involving “in vivo” studies at all scales (gene to ecosystem) from laboratory and controlled environments to the field and with a strong element of realistic experiments. The research focuses on:

  • Development of relevant experimental approaches (multifactor experiments, extreme events, anthropogenic drivers

  • Investigation of responses and adaptation (Ecosystem responses, allocation and sequestration of carbon, perturbation of the nitrogen, carbon and nutrient cycles, genetic adaptation, ecosystem functioning and productivity).
