Biosystems Division

The Biosystems Division provides research-based knowledge on production and conversion of biomass to energy and materials as well as assessment of the consequences of conversion and use of energy for society, environment, nature and climate.

The Biosystems Division utilizes this knowledge in interdisciplinary projects by dissemination, innovation, teaching, and cooperation with private and public partners for the creation of sustainable solutions.

It is our vision to provide the concepts needed for sustainable production of energy and materials based on biomass in order to fulfill the global need to reduce GHG emissions and support a long term sustainable societal development through recycling of resources and avoidance of environmental impacts.
