Need-driven Innovation

Risø works systematically with what we call needs-driven innovation. Through dialogue with businesses, users and experts, Risø seeks out technological problems with a market potential which we have the competencies to solve. The new product concepts which are developed are implemented either in existing businesses or newly established businesses.

Risø has a considerable knowledge bank of both new and tested technologies. When presented with a problem, we put together an interdisciplinary team of scientists who, together with employees in the business, experts or key users, find new or considerably better solutions than those offered by existing products and processes.

For each idea, we prepare a risk profile with regard to problem, solution and value. This risk profile forms the basis of a systematic selection and priority-ranking of innovation ideas and, together with your business, we will identify the projects which are most likely to generate growth.
