About the Hydrogen Storage group
Research on solid state hydrogen storage has been carried out at Risø since the 1980s. Until recently, the main emphasis has been on Magnesium based hydrides.
The hydrogen storage group now integrates theoretical modelling and optimization, synthesis, experimental characterisation and testing of new storage materials and catalytic particles. The primary focus is on complex hydrides, and in particular on understanding and optimizing the structural characteristics of the storage materials and catalytic additives at the nanometer scale.
It is our research strategy to use both in house experimental facilities and external large facilities such as synchrotron and neutron radiation.
