The capacity building was achieved through a combination of targeted workshops, production of training manuals and guidebooks, provision of support to Designated National Authorities (DNA), and production of national portfolios of CDM PINs and PDDs. Project implementation modality included direct technical assistance support provided by UNEP Risoe Centre to in-country project teams, as well as support from regional centres contracted by URC to support country teams.
The project was funded by the Government of Netherlands and implemented by UNEP Risoe Centre. Phase I countries were Cambodia, Philippines, Viet Nam, Bolivia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Egypt, Morocco, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mozambique and Uganda. Phase II included Nicaragua, Peru, Suriname, Algeria, Mauritius, Tanzania, and Bangladesh.
