Development and Energy in Africa (DEA)

The project promoted a better understanding of development impacts from energy policies and interventions

The project developed an assessment framework for the evaluation of development impacts from energy interventions, and on such basis promoted dialogue among energy policy stakeholders.

The project involved collaboration with energy centres in Botswana, Ghana, Mali, Senegal, Tanzania and Zambia.

DEA was implemented by a consortium of European partners including Risoe National Laboratory. Funding came from the European Commission through its COOPENER Programme.
