The purpose of this EU project is to produce fibres for composite materials.
These composite materials will be load bearing elements of thermoplastics and reinforcing plant fibres. The fibres of interest are flax fibres and hemp fibres. These fibres are characterized chemically and mechanically at Risø DTU since high fibre strength is needed. Processing will be developed in the project to minimize the fibre damage and produce fibres for spinning.
