Wind energy systems workshop series

On 16 April, the Wind Energy Division at Risø DTU is holding the first workshop in a series aiming to present the challenges faced when dealing with a larger amount of wind energy in power systems.

System integration, control concepts for wind turbines, electrical components, grid connection and energy storage in relation to renewable energy sources are some of the subjects that the workshops will deal with. The ambition is to bring together industry and research twice a year and thereby provide the platform for open and fruitful technical discussions.

The first workshop has the title ‘Frequency Control and Demand Side System Services in Systems with Large Scale Wind Power’. Among other things it will present a case from an autonomous system with increasing wind power penetration in the Greek island of Rhodos.

The workshop takes place in the H.H. Koch auditorium.
