Content of the meeting:

The joint EU-US TTF workshop is held alternatively in the US and in Europe and follows the meetings in San Diego 2007 and Marseille 2006. The European part is organized through the EFDA Transport Topical Group.

The EU-US TTF Workshop is an international gathering of renowned scientists working in transport in magnetized plasmas. It appeals to experimentalists, modelers and theorists in this field. The workshop will encompass sessions in the following topics, each organized by a session chair:

  • Core heat and particle transport: Arthur Peeters, Warwick University, Warwick, UK
  • Core and edge momentum transport: Tuomas Tala, VTT, Finland
  • Edge and SOL transport physics: Andrew Kirk, UKAEA, Culham, UK
  • MHD and fast particles interactions with transport: Ambrogio Fasoli, CRPP, Lausanne, Switzerland

Conference dinner
The conference dinner will take place on September 3 at Trekroner Sea Fort, which is an idyllic island located in the Copenhagen harbour with a magnificent view overlooking the city from the water front and the Sea of Oresund. The old sea fort was originally built to defend Copenhagen. We sail directly from IDA Conference Centre in a Canal Tour Boat that will take us on a small – half an hour - sightseeing tour in the cosy canals of Copenhagen before we arrive at the Sea Fort. Price for attending is EUR 70. Please register for the conference dinner at the registration form.
